Recap: Starmount Rams vs. Ashe County Huskies
The Starmount Rams lost against the Ashe County Huskies back in February of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Starmount was outmatched by Ashe County on the road and fell 71-34. Starmount has struggled against Ashe County recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Starmount's loss came despite strong showings from Jadon Hurt-bailey and Jordon Dobson. Hurt-bailey scored eight points along with three steals, while Dobson scored 13 points.
Starmount struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Starmount's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ashe County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Starmount will be home for the holidays to greet Forbush at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Forbush comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ashe County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Millers Creek Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Millers Creek Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
