Baseball Recap: Sparrows Point Takes a Loss

Sparrows Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hereford Bulls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-7 last Monday.

Sparrows Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hereford, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Sparrows Point will take on Perry Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.77 runs per game on average), something the Pointers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hereford, they will challenge Lansdowne at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
