Baseball Recap: Northwest Falls Short Against Ranked Johnston

Northwest faced Johnston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Johnston, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Northwest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-6 loss against Southeast Polk on the 7th. As for Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-10 defeat against Dallas Center-Grimes on the 7th.
