Softball Game Preview: Hartsburg-Emden Stags vs. Clinton Maroons

The Hartsburg-Emden Stags will face off against the Clinton Maroons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartsburg-Emden is looking for their season's first win.

Hartsburg-Emden came up short against Pleasant Plains on Saturday, falling 22-2. That's two games in a row now that the Stags have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Meanwhile, Clinton can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Teresa, sneaking past 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Maroons have posted since May 6, 2024.

Hadley Humble was incredible, going 3-for-5 with six RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Avery Smith was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Hartsburg-Emden, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
