Baseball Recap: Mainland Regional Comes Up Short

If Mainland Regional was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Cedar Creek on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Egg Harbor Township Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mainland Regional has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. As for Egg Harbor Township, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

While Mainland Regional had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
