Softball Recap: Baldwin Comes Up Short

Baldwin lost against Jasper County back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Braves came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 16-2. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Conniya Reaves was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Zuri Grant, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Jasper County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Baldwin will welcome Wilkinson County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.73 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jasper County, they will head out on the road to face off against Social Circle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
