Softball Recap: Mountain View Victorious

Mountain View took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Centennial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mountain View came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial on Saturday, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Toros have posted since April 4, 2024.

Jaelynn Fike tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits.

At the plate, Keelie Goodman and Tatum Eaton did most of the damage at the plate: Goodman scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Eaton scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, Eaton posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Centennial, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4-1.

Looking ahead, Mountain View will take on Basha in a tournament on Saturday. Basha's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Mountain View's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to face off against Lake Havasu at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
