Recap: Redlands vs. Chaparral

Chaparral had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 17-7 win over Redlands. That result is just more of the same for Chaparral, who also won the last time these teams played.

Chaparral's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 17 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Redlands couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 17-0 heading into the break. Chaparral were outperformed in the second half 0-7 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the game.

Senior Orlando Ornelas, who accumulated 138 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD, was a major factor in the success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse sophomore Tristen Ramirez, who racked up 9 tackles. The victory bumped Chaparral's record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Redlands's record to 0-2.

Chaparral will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Yucaipa at 7:00 PM. Redlands will look to defend their home turf next week against Los Osos at 7:30 PM. Redlands continues their travels as they hit the road for the second straight contest.
