Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Wildcats vs. Deptford Spartans
After flying high against Oakcrest on Saturday, St. Joseph came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 13-8 to the Deptford Spartans on Monday.
Aidan Riley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Matt Thompson was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Deptford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.
St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-7 loss against Williamstown on the 20th. Deptford has also already played their next game (against Highland Regional), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
