Softball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin lost against Enka last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Franklin Panthers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Enka Jets.

Suzanna Cabe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Franklin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jozy Dehart, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Enka, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will welcome Pisgah at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Enka, they will be playing at home against A.C. Reynolds at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Enka's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so A.C. Reynolds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
