Baseball Preview: Pleasant Home Eagles vs. Paxton Bobcats
The Pleasant Home Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Paxton Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Home has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Pleasant Home came up short against Goshen, falling 21-9. Pleasant Home hasn't had much luck with Goshen recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
John Luke Colvin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wiggins, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Paxton came up short against Destin on Monday and fell 7-3. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Colby Vaiyanet was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Phillip Bearden also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Pleasant Home, their record now sits at 1-3.
