Softball Recap: Tonopah Valley Has No Trouble Against Highland Prep

Tonopah Valley won against Glendale Prep Academy last Saturday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Tonopah Valley blew past the Highland Prep Honey Badgers 20-1. Considering the Phoenix have won four contests by more than 13 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tonopah Valley got a massive performance out of Lena Hacker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was Hacker's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Procunier, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Tonopah Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The victory got Tonopah Valley back to even at 5-5. As for Highland Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Tonopah Valley will venture away from home to take on Chino Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highland Prep, they will host Yuma Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
