Basketball Game Preview: Stevenson Bulldogs vs. La Center Wildcats

Stevenson is 1-9 against La Center since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Stevenson Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the La Center Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Stevenson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 74-67 win over King's Way Christian on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Knights are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, La Center had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 92-61 win over the Bruins. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Stevenson's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for La Center, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4.

Stevenson beat La Center 61-48 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Stevenson repeat their success, or does La Center have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
