Basketball Game Preview: Twinsburg Tigers vs. Highland Hornets

The Twinsburg Tigers will face off against the Highland Hornets at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Twinsburg sitting on four straight victories and Highland on 21.

On Wednesday, Twinsburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 win over Cuyahoga Falls. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Black Tigers are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Highland made easy work of Berea-Midpark on Monday and carried off a 71-50 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Highland pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Twinsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Twinsburg came up short against Highland in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 43-34. Can Twinsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
