Baseball Recap: Rosemont Takes a Loss

Rosemont extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-12-1 in the process. They came up short against the Christian Brothers Falcons, falling 21-0. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.

Rosemont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Lara, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Christian Brothers, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Christian Brothers' side, Sean Romero made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Romero has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other pitching news, Jordan Medina looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Rowan Nichols was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Schempp, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Rosemont and Christian Brothers will both be playing Antelope the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Wolverines will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
