The Memphis Business Academy Execs are taking a road trip to square off against the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Memphis Business Academy's victory against Sheffield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Execs skirted past the Knights 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Execs.

The team relied heavily on Teryck White, who earned two runs and four stolen bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kordavien Coleman, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Preparatory came tearing into Monday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 21st.
Brett Godwin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
On the hitting side, Lakeland Preparatory's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peeler Emerson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Lakeland Preparatory's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Memphis Business Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Memphis Business Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 14 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lakeland Preparatory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Memphis Business Academy might still be hurting after the 31-0 loss they got from Lakeland Preparatory in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Execs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
