Soccer Game Preview: Loveland Classical vs. Middle Park

The Loveland Classical Lions will face off against the Middle Park Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Loveland Classical is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mullen just ended the team's ten-game winning streak last Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 4-1. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Loveland Classical struggled afterwards.

Their goal came courtesy of Gigi Gonzalez, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Middle Park rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Highlanders a 1-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Middle Park as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Middle Park's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Loveland Classical, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
