Recap: Union Spartans vs. East Columbus Gators

This season hasn't been kind to the Union Spartans, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a serious blow against East Columbus on Tuesday, falling 72-32. Union lost against East Columbus in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-22 score last time.

Cainan Patrick was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds for East Columbus. Patrick also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Tyron Keaton, who scored nine points.

Union bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Columbus, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will be home for the holidays to greet Spring Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Columbus won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday.
