Belvidere North had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Belvidere Bucs. Give the Blue Thunder's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Alexa Norgard was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Josie Yakey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Belvidere North's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Belvidere, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.
