Baseball Recap: Tucson High Magnet School Takes a Loss

Tucson High Magnet School managed to slip by Nogales the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Tucson High Magnet School came up short against Nogales on Friday, falling 10-4. The Badgers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Apaches apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Juan Hernandez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Maximilliano Cruz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Tucson High Magnet School and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Nogales, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tucson High Magnet School will square off against Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School is facing Sunnyside at the right time seeing as Sunnyside is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Nogales, they will face off against Buena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Nogales surely won't give up without a fight.
