Basketball Recap: Kam Reese's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Traders Point Christian over KIPP Legacy

Traders Point Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the KIPP Legacy Lions, falling 72-52. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Traders Point Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kam Reese, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and three steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Quentin Jones was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points.

KIPP Legacy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jahmere Evans led the charge by going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points and three steals. That's the most steals Evans has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Sanders, who put up ten points and seven boards.

Traders Point Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for KIPP Legacy, their record is now 12-7.

Traders Point Christian has already played their next match, a 67-66 defeat against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 18th. As for KIPP Legacy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-41 win against Herron on the 17th.
