Softball Recap: Chapel Field Christian Lions vs. Eldred Yellowjackets
Chapel Field Christian couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a rough 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Eldred Yellowjackets on Monday. Chapel Field Christian has not had much luck with Eldred recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
For Eldred's part, the result came thanks to Chloe Warming's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Sydney Furler was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
The win got Eldred back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chapel Field Christian will take on Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eldred, they will head out on the road to face off against Sullivan West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
