Saugerties wins going away against Poughkeepsie

The Saugerties Sawyers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Poughkeepsie on Monday as Saugerties made off with a 56-30 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Saugerties who now have four in a row.

Natalie Tucker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring ten points. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Helene Kerr, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

Saugerties' win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Poughkeepsie, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.

Saugerties will head out on the road to face off against Rondout Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rondout Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Saugerties is ranked 158th). As for Poughkeepsie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carmel is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
