Volleyball Recap: Haines City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Haines City dropped to 7-7 on Thursday, ending the team's three-match streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Avon Park Red Devils by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

As for Avon Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 26th.

Leading Avon Park to victory were Jaymarie Rivera and Naomy Diaz. Rivera had 22 digs and one block, while Diaz had 20 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Rivera has posted since back in August.

Haines City has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Frostproof on the 7th. As for Avon Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Sebring on the 6th.
