Baseball Recap: Gulf Gets the Win

Gulf's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Lakeside Christian Lions 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Gulf's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Coment, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Coment has posted since back in February.

Gulf's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Lakeside Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf will host Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Buccaneers are on a three-game streak of home losses, and the Falcons a seven-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Lakeside Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Seven Rivers Christian at 3:30 p.m.
