Wallkill hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Presidents at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wallkill has eight straight victories, Roosevelt has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wallkill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Washingtonville with a sharp 19-3 win on Tuesday. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Madison Auger was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Wallkill let Ariana Reyes and Charley Callahan run wild. Reyes got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double, while Callahan went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Gracyn Cadden was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Wallkill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Roosevelt was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against John Jay, falling 9-1.
Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassandra Carufe, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Wallkill's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wallkill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
