Basketball Recap: Peoples Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

Peoples Baptist Academy entered their match against Victory Baptist on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Peoples Baptist Academy Knights were dealt a 97-60 loss at the hands of the Victory Baptist Warrior. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warrior from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Victory Baptist was led to victory by Dontaye Bell and Brayden Jameson. Bell went 14 for 19 on his way to 31 points and eight rebounds, while Jameson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Jameson is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. Jacari Everett was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Peoples Baptist Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1. As for Victory Baptist, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoples Baptist Academy will face off against Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Peoples Baptist Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Victory Baptist, they will challenge Old Suwanee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
