Baseball Recap: Southern Takes a Loss

Southern blew Allegany out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Allegany got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Campers by a score of 4-2. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Campers earlier this season, when they won 11-3.

Ryan Bird made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Southern has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Allegany, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Southern will head out on the road to challenge Hancock at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Allegany, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Moorefield at 4:30 p.m.
