Baseball Recap: La Serna Comes Up Short

La Serna lost against La Habra back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lancers fell 8-3 to the Highlanders.

La Serna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Becerra, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Becerra also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Dominic Segura was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

La Serna's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for La Habra, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Serna will venture away from home to take on Whittier at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for La Habra, they will head out to challenge Pacifica at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
