Basketball Recap: Canyon Springs Falls Despite Big Games from Henry King and Mekhi Carter

Canyon Springs was the 62-55 winner over Silverado when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Canyon Springs Pioneers fell to the Silverado Skyhawks 60-56.

Canyon Springs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mekhi Carter, who posted 15 points and three steals, and Henry King, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. That's the most points King has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kory McRoy Jr, who put up eight points.

Canyon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Silverado, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

The future could be bright for both Canyon Springs and Silverado: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Canyon Springs will try to hand Desert Oasis their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Silverado will try to hand Coronado their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
