Soccer Recap: Johnstown Takes a Loss

Johnstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Galway Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Johnstown of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Johnstown's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Galway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Johnstown will head out to square off against Mekeel Christian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Galway, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Fonda-Fultonville at 4:30 p.m. Galway will be up against Fonda-Fultonville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.88 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
