Softball Recap: Northlake Christian Find Success

Northlake Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Franklinton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Wolverines never let the Demons get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Abigail Willie made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Willie was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Fraher, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Raimondi, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Northlake Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Northlake Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Franklinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Northlake Christian will take on Mt. Hermon at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklinton, they will face off against Sumner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Demons surely won't give up without a fight.
