Soccer Game Preview: Sunlake vs. Northeast

The Sunlake Seahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sunlake's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three matchups.

On Wednesday, Sunlake earned a 4-2 victory over Land O' Lakes. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Gators are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Northeast was not quite East Lake's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in November of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Sunlake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Northeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6-2.

Sunlake beat Northeast 2-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will Sunlake repeat their success, or does Northeast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
