Armwood put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand the Steinbrenner Warriors a 58-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Warriors are ranked 281st).

Armwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhys Brush out in front who rushed for 45 yards and one score, and also threw for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes. Jarvis Howell II was another key signal caller, throwing for 66 yards and two TDs.

Armwood didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Steinbrenner to a completion percentage of just 43.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Kallen Martinez and Samir Baker, who each logged one passes deflected. Armwood hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.41 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Larry Warren, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Armwood's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Steinbrenner, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Armwood will venture away from home to take on Wharton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Steinbrenner, they will head out to square off against Palm Harbor University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
