Softball Game Preview: Vestavia Hills Rebels vs. Hewitt-Trussville Huskies

Vestavia Hills is 1-9 against Hewitt-Trussville since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Rebels will look to defend their home field against the Huskies at 2:30 p.m. Hewitt-Trussville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Vestavia Hills, who comes in off a win.

Vestavia Hills proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chelsea, sneaking past 3-1.

Meanwhile, Hewitt-Trussville faced Curry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Huskies came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 18-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskies have suffered since March 20th.

Corey Goguts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Vestavia Hills' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-18-1. As for Hewitt-Trussville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-14-1.
