Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

If Ooltewah wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sweetwater, they should've done a better job of containing Hunter Daffron. The Sweetwater Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Ooltewah Owls 47-44 thanks in part to Daffron, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Dacus, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. He also put up a block, which washis first of the season.

Sweetwater's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for Ooltewah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Sweetwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-62 loss against Tellico Plains on the 17th. Ooltewah has also already played their next matchup, a 64-26 defeat against East Hamilton on the 18th.
