Basketball Recap: Longwood's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

There's no place like home for Longwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 59-38 margin over the Kennedy Crusaders on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Kennedy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jovani Naverette, who put up nine points.

Longwood picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Kennedy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longwood will host Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennedy, they will welcome Brooks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brooks is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
