Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Mt. Zion Braves
Lincoln was the 2-0 winner over Mt. Zion when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lincoln Railsplitters fell just short of the Mt. Zion Braves by a score of 2-1 on Monday.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Lincoln sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 15-25, 25-22.
Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Tedrick, who had eight digs, three kills, and 37 assists. Tedrick is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Holmes, who had nine kills, nine digs, and two aces.
Madi Moore was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted in her last four matchups.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mt. Zion, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
