Golden Sierra easily dispatched Elite last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Highlands Scots by a score of 22-20 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 18-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cody McCoard, who rushed for 78 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards. An impressive showing, but McCoard really ramped things up playing D: he picked up five sacks and made eight total tackles. Another rusher making a difference was Jason Sasser, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD.

Even if they lost, Golden Sierra's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut McCoard.

Highlands' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Frank Cady led the charge by throwing for 141 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards. Caleb Nelson was Cady's top target, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.
