Basketball Recap: Bailey Pritt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Braxton County over Roane County

Braxton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Roane County Raiders, falling 51-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-27 back in December of 2024.

Braxton County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bailey Pritt, who made all 6 shots she took to post 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kendall Key, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Roane County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Tolley, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 9 points. Tolley has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Ella Keen was another key player, putting up nine points.

Braxton County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Roane County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing South Harrison the next time they take the court. Roane County will head out to face South Harrison at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Braxton County will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
