Soccer Game Preview: Campo Verde vs. Chaparral

The Campo Verde Coyotes will head out to face off against the Chaparral Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

If Chaparral heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Campo Verde took over last week. Campo Verde beat Arizona College Prep by a goal, winning 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Coyotes.

Zara Davis and Addison Orr scored both of Campo Verde's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Chaparral came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saints, sneaking past 3-2.

Campo Verde's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8-1. As for Chaparral, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1-2.

Campo Verde came up short against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Campo Verde avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
