Soccer Game Preview: Hammond vs. Spring Valley

The Hammond Skyhawks will face off against the Spring Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hammond took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wilson Hall 2-1. The Skyhawks haven't had any issues with the Barons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley kept a clean sheet against Swansea on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

They hit Swansea with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kaden Eduoard, Zahi Saddique, and Preston Suarez.

The victory got Hammond back to even at 1-1. As for Spring Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
