The Hammond Morton Governors will take on the Mishawaka Marian Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hammond Morton has three straight wins, Mishawaka Marian has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ei'Lani Herrera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Payten Bevill and Analiya Feliciano did most of the damage at the plate: Bevill got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Feliciano went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Feliciano has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Branyla Goshay, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Hammond Morton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mishawaka Marian came up short against Glenn on Saturday, falling 11-1.
Mishawaka Marian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Pedraza, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Mari Cline also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Hammond Morton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Mishawaka Marian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
