Baseball Game Preview: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans

The Williston-Elko Blue Devils will square off against the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Williston-Elko had just enough and edged out Horse Creek Academy 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ridge Spring-Monetta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wagener-Salley, sneaking past 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Williston-Elko's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their victory bumped their record up to 3-15.

Williston-Elko came out on top in a nail-biter against Ridge Spring-Monetta in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
