On Friday, Christian Home Educators Fellowship didn't have quite enough to beat Good Samaritan HomeSchool and fell 6-5.
Luke Babin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Babin wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Champlin, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Champlin has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Hank Pearce, who scored a run and stole Two bases.
Meanwhile, Centreville Academy came up short against Wilkinson County Christian Academy on Friday, falling 9-2.
Centreville Academy also got a good showing from Ty Kinabrew, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kinabrew has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kayde Redmond made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Christian Home Educators Fellowship's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Centreville Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Centreville Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Christian Home Educators Fellowship has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Centreville Academy, though, as they've only averaged .340. Will they be able to contain Christian Home Educators Fellowship's hitters?
