Football Recap: Goshen Eagles vs. Cottonwood Bears

Goshen and Cottonwood squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Goshen had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 52-24 loss at the hands of the Cottonwood Bears. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cottonwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylon Morris, who threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. King Campbell helped Morris out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

The loss snapped Goshen's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-3 record. As for Cottonwood, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Goshen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cottonwood, they will take on Reeltown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cottonwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Reeltown likes a good challenge.
