Softball Recap: Meigs Falls Short of Adena in the Playoffs

Meigs and Adena squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Meigs had to settle for second. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 12-5. The Marauders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Shelby Yost stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Jordin Davenport was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meigs' loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Adena, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Meigs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Adena, they will challenge Wheelersburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
