Soccer Game Preview: North Augusta vs. Airport

The North Augusta Yellow Jackets will head out to challenge the Airport Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

North Augusta is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Brookland-Cayce. That's two games in a row now that North Augusta have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Airport, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Midland Valley 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Airport were the better team in the second half.

Airport's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for North Augusta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

North Augusta took their victory against Airport when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Augusta since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
