Basketball Recap: Buckley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Le Lycee last Thursday, Buckley came back down to earth. The Buckley Griffins fell just short of the Holy Martyrs Armenian Armens by a score of 63-60 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Griffins have suffered since January 31, 2024.

Buckley's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-6. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Buckley and Holy Martyrs Armenian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Buckley will take on Pilibos at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 339 places (460 vs. 121). Meanwhile, Holy Martyrs Armenian (ranked 324th) will meet Legacy Christian Academy (ranked 137th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
