Football Recap: Vincent Finds Playoff Glory Versus Falkville + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Vincent walked away with it. They really took it to the Falkville Blue Devils for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-6 win. With the Yellow Jackets ahead 27-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Jayden Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 207 yards and three scores while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes. Jay Posey made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Vincent proved: they limited Falkville to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. Vincent's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 5.01 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.43 on average over their last five games.

Vincent didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off seven passes before the game was over. Posey led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Zachary Morehead is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Kenderious Chapman was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Vincent pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.4 points on average over those games. As for Falkville, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.
